Grameenphone offers Amazing Browser "Opera Mini"

i am glad to tell you guys (who have tried wap browsing and got irked) that WAP is a thing of the past now.......

gp offered a new service (as it is in their WAP Portal) called "Opera Mini" . If you have EDGE connection and Java enabled phone (Thank God that 95% EDGE/GPRS phones are Java enabled… e.g. Nokia 6230, 6020, 3220, 6600, or higher, SE K500, K700, P900, Motorola V3 etc.) then you can browse the WEB with Opera Mini............

just go to GP's WAP Portal: http://wap.gpsurf.net/gp, click on the link Opera Mini and download it, then open it and enter your web address...

great news is the Software is free but you will be charged for per KB download (2 paisa per KB, so total download cost = 2*120 = 240 paisa ~ 3 taka) and also you will be charged for per KB browsing when you will be browsing with Opera Mini but hey you can have any sites in your tiny little phone not the lousy wap.....

trust me I am using it for 2 weeks and all I can say that I am addicted to it. let me know your response!

is "GP offering" much a suitable term?

gp just got a download link/file on der site..

u can directly dload it from opera.com and transfer it to ur cell. ( no downloading cost lol

i use Opera 8.51 for Symbian series 60 .. n i surf a LOT

gp has got a download link on their WAP Portal, but I think gp has some contract with opera unless they cant put it there, its not legal, i guess!!

and how much u saved 2.5 taka, hmmmm, real save huh??

also opera 8.51 or opera mobile for smart phone (with symbian os) is not same as opera mini, opera mini compresses (upto 80%) the web page with intermediate server (oslo, norway) between your operator (gp) and the internet server. check for more... http://www.opera.com/products/mobile/

if you are using opera 8.51 then also u are paying more when browsing with gp edge because of per KB charge..... but also opera mini has some limitation like no download option, but hey what u want to download to ur mobile??, and even if u do u can do that from the opera 8.51 or the default phone browser....

i have nokia n70 with opera 8.5 browser, but its not as quick as opera mini also the page are messed up (yahoo.com, cnn.com) in opera 8.5, so i installed opera mini and i must say its awesome.........
