For the first time in Bangladesh, GrameenPhone introduces Voice SMS that will enable GP subscribers to send Voice messages in any language to their near and dear ones.
After the launch of EDGE, this is part of GrameenPhone’s continued efforts to give subscribers more value and freedom of expression.
This unique new service is not handset dependent and all GP pre-paid and post-paid subscribers will be able to send and receive Voice SMS all over the GrameenPhone Network around the country at a lower cost.
This new service will ease subscribers’ way of communication, as it will allow them to record a message/greeting/announcement and send them instantly. There is no need to search for alphabets on small keypads on the phones—users can just talk, send, and listen. Moreover, Voice SMS will allow you to personalize your message in your own way for the recipient to hear exactly what you expressed.
Voice SMS enables users to communicate in a new way without having to read or write, thus emphasizing GrameenPhone’s commitment to spread mobile technology to the farthest corners and remove barriers to communication.
Sending a Voice SMS is simple. One only has to press * (the * sign on the keypad) followed by the receiver’s number to send a Voice SMS of 30 second duration. Moreover, Voice SMS is offered at a very attractive price of only Tk. 2.5 per message. Receivers can listen to new Voice Messages at free of cost by simply dialing *0*.
Many more interesting features will be added to this service in the future. GrameenPhone will continue its endeavor to introduce such new and innovative Value Added Services.
