AKTEL formally launched ‘AKTEL exceed’, a new tariff plan for AKTEL Pre-Paid users at an auspicious ceremony on November 15, 2005.
This unique tariff plan will allow customers to talk longer on their mobile phones at a much more economical rate than any other operator in the market.
The new ‘AKTEL exceed’ tariff rates allow customers to talk at as low as Tk1.90/minute during peak hours (8am to 8pm), and even lower rates during other time bands. (Please refer to tariff table below). The tariff comes into effect after a one-time connection fee of Tk2.40 per call.
In a Press Briefing, AKTEL’s Head of Marketing Mr Asif Iqbal said, “We recognize that high tariff has always been a barrier for the Bangladeshi mobile phone user, and with the launch of this product, AKTEL is yet again remaining clearly ahead of other operators in providing an affordable option for communication.” The tariff plan addresses high users who desire to talk longer within their current mobile phone budget, as it will provide them significantly longer access to communication at the same cost. “Often, people disconnect their call in order to limit their expenses. With this new service, we are encouraging people to express themselves without limiting their call duration for fear of high expenses,” added Mr Iqbal.
The ‘exceed’ tariff plan is built into a new product package specially marked with the ‘AKTEL exceed’ logo, which will be available in the market from November 16, 2005 at all AKTEL authorized outlets and Customer Care Centers. The tariff plan is available in Pre-Paid Mobile Standard (BTTB incoming and outgoing) and Pre-Paid Mobile Link (mobile to mobile) products. Current Pre-Paid users can also conveniently migrate from the existing, regular tariff plan to the ‘exceed’ tariff plan by typing ‘exceed’ and sending the SMS to 8MIG (8644), with a service charge of Tk100 for this migration. The migration option will ensure flexibility for customers to choose whichever tariff plan suits them best.
High officials of AKTEL at the Press Briefing re- iterated their commitment to provide customers with the best possible mobile service and facilities in the country. The function was attended by senior representatives of AKTEL including Managing Director Mr Ahmad Ismail, Chief Operating Officer Mr Vijay Watson, GM Marketing Mr Jose Ravee, Head of Marketing Mr Asif Iqbal, AGM Corporate Affairs Mr Javed Tariq, AGM Marketing (Advertising & Promotions) Ms Sania Mahmood, AGM Marketing (Sales & Distribution) Mr Mesbah Uddin, and Sr Manager (Product Development) Mr Abraham Kaikobad.
