Grameenphone has launched its “Web SMS Service” which will allow you to send SMS to any Grameenphone subscriber from the Grameenphone web site.
With this service you can only send sms to a Grameenphone number and it requires a registration for which you need to own a Grammen phone number yourself.
You can write a maximum of 160 characters in an SMS and each SMS will be charged at Taka 1.00 excluding VAT.
Some General Features of Web SMS:
Phone Book (maximum 200 records)
Multiple recipients (maximum 10 persons at a time)
SMS History (record of sent messages from the web page in the last 1 month)
SMS notification on your mobile every time your number is logged on to the Web SMS Service
To register, you need to send an SMS from your Grameenphone connection. Type “REG” and send it to 9767. You will receive your password in a reply SMS. Please save the password as you will need it to log on to the Web SMS Service.
